Matthew West has a new song. The title is "Truth Be Told." This world is full of temptations. Since we are talking about truth, lets admit that we often give in to temptation. Thanks be to God, that He already knows this, and continually forgives us for these weak moments. The type of temptation Matthew talks about in his song is this. So many people feel that Christians are supposed to always be happy, glowing, sin free people. I don't know anyone who actually fits this model. Do you? The reality is, Christians have everything they need to be happy and glowing, but since our lives are filled with sin, we can never on this side of heaven be the perfect model Christian. Matthew says in the song, "...being honest is the only way to fix it." So, I ask you, "why not try it?" How about we drop the act. How about we don't judge people for being the mess that deep inside, we know we are too. So try something new. Let us start each day telling God how much of a mess we are, and in this truth, allow God to forgive, heal, and to free us from those burdens. Then we can be ready to handle another day.

Verse for Consideration:
John 8:32 ESV
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Lie number one: You're supposed to have it all together
And when they ask how you're doing, just smile and tell them "Never better"
Lie number two: Everybody's life is perfect except yours
So keep your messes and your wounds and your secrets safe with you behind closed doors
[Pre-Chorus]
But truth be told, the truth is rarely told
[Chorus]
I say, "I'm fine, yeah, I'm fine, oh, I'm fine, hey, I'm fine"
But I'm not, I'm broken
And when it's out of control I say it's under control
But it's not and You know it
I don't know why it's so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There's no failure, no fall
There's no sin You don't already know
So let the truth be told
[Verse 2]
There's a sign on the door, says, "Come as you are" but I doubt it
'Cause if we lived like that was true, every Sunday morning pew would be crowded
But didn't You say church should look more like a hospital?
A safe place for the sick, the sinner and the scarred, and the prodigals like me
[Pre-Chorus]
But truth be told, the truth is rarely told
Oh, am I the only one who says…
[Chorus]
"I'm fine, yeah, I'm fine, oh, I'm fine, hey, I'm fine"
But I'm not, I'm broken
And when it's out of control I say it's under control
But it's not and You know it
I don't know why it's so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There's no failure, no fall
There's no sin You don't already know
So let the truth be told
[Bridge]
Can I really stand here unashamed
Knowing that Your love for me won't change?
Oh God, if that's really true
Then let the truth be told
There's no sin You don't already know
Yeah, I know
There's no failure, no fall
There's no sin You don't already know
So let the truth be told
