The Bible is full of references about light and dark. In John 8, Jesus calls himself the light of the world. John 3 talks about people loving darkness. Ephesians 5 says to walk as children of light. If we are being real, being children of the light is not easy. Our sinful nature seems to pull us toward the dark. This song is called Lighthouse. A lighthouse shines light in the darkness to help ships to avoid destruction. I think the point of the this song is that God is our lighthouse. He is constantly shining His light into our darkness to bring us back into fellowship with Him, and ultimately, to Heaven with Him forever. He wants to bring us safe to shore!
