Some of the words of this awesome song: "Lord, You found me, you healed me, you called me from the grave..." This song is called "What Mercy Did For Me," and features artists like Crystal Yates, Micah Tyler, and Joshua Sherman. If you want to reflect on the work of the Jesus, this song fits perfectly. Currently we are in the season of Lent. In the church year, this season is often represented by no hallelujahs, black paraments, covering the cross, fasting, giving up things we like and more. Across the spectrum of many types of faith and religions, human beings are known for creating infinite amounts of rituals and theatrics to express their dedication to their particular type of religion. While I am not against solemn reflection, fasting, and meditative prayer, I firmly believe that God is not impressed with how we in the church so often do "Pharisee like" things to show off our religiosity to all who will take notice. We have to be careful that we are not minimizing the "done" aspect of the Christian faith. Jesus came, and did it all. Say it with me, "It is Done!" God doesn't need us to create traditions, rituals, and the like to prove our faithfulness to Him. Yes, Jesus suffered and died a terrible death. Don't miss that. Remember that. Reflect on that. Definitely, thank Him for that. But as my Pastor once said, we should live the happiness of Easter all year around. So when you listen to this song, don't forget to say "thank you Jesus," but most of all, don't forget to live out the joy of the Easter resurrection during Lent and all year long!

Verses for Consideration:

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Lyrics:

I was hopeless I knew i was lost Death and Darkenss were my only songs I needed someone to come to rescue me And mercy heard my plea Lord, You found me you healed me you called me from the grave you gave me your real love I thank you jesus You washed my sins away and now I'm living I got forgiven You came to set me free and that's what you mercy did for me You gave beauty for my guilty stains and now I'm living day to day by His grace so excuse me if I can't contain my praise cuz i know that I've been saved Lord, You found me you healed me you called me from the grave you gave me your real love I thank you jesus You washed my sins away and now I'm living I got forgiven You came to set me free and that's what you mercy did for me And every morning mercy will restore me I will proclaim and if the world may fall before me I will proclaim Lord, You found me you healed me you called me from the grave you gave me your real love I thank you jesus You washed my sins away and now I'm living I got forgiven You came to set me free and that's what you mercy did for me That's what your mercy did for me
