There are many songs about building things in this life, and then realizing later that we missed out on some important things. (Cat's In The Cradle, Casting Crown's American Dream, etc...) The lesson to be learned is simple. Examine your life and focus the proper amount of time and resources on the things that are most important. For example, a person with an important job that makes lots of money, might spend too much time at work and neglect his family or relaxation time. This can lead to disastrous consequences. Families fall apart. You may experience loss of health due to stress. This concept is all well and good and would make a good speech for a motivational speaker. What if we take the same concept and apply it to our relationship with God? Ask yourself, are you chasing things of this world to a degree that you have either neglected your spiritual needs, or worse yet fallen away from the faith? This song from Colton Dixon is about this. He says, "More of You, Less of me, Make me who I'm meant to be..." Colton was a contestant on American Idol. He knows what it is like to have money, fame and other sought-after worldly things. After American Idol, he could have been a popular secular singer and had it all. Instead he chose to become a Christian artist, and to write and sings songs like this. In this song he sings, "Be my King, God I choose more of you..." Back to our relationship with God. The great thing about working on your relationship with God, is that it will impact everything in this life. Relationships. Work. More margin. Put me to the test on this! You will find that building your relationship with God and spending frequent time with Him is definitely worth it. Now listen to Colton's great song.

Verses for Consideration:

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Lyrics:

I made my castle tall I built up every wall This is my kingdom and it needs to fall I want You and no one else Empty me of myself Until the only thing that's left is

More of You Less of me Make me who I'm meant to be You're all I want all I need You're everything Take it all I surrender Be my king God I choose More of You Less of me

More of You

This life I hold so close Oh, God I let it go I refuse to gain the world and lose my soul So take it all I abandon everything I am You can have it The only thing I need is

More of You Less of me Make me who I'm meant to be You're all I want all I need You're everything Take it all I surrender Be my king God I choose More of You Less of me

More of You

All to You I surrender All to You my blessed Savior
