What if Jesus arrested death and put it in prison? I love the imagery of this idea! One of the definitions of arrested is to stop or check. What Jesus, the Son of God, did with His death and resurrection, was to stop death in its tracks. Earthly death need not lead to eternal death, if we will put our faith in Jesus and His death and resurrection! Most people view earthly death as a "real" death, where people simply dissolve into the ether, and are no more. However the Bible teaches that our body is just a shell, and it is the soul that lives on forever. Maybe that is why Jesus called earthly death, "sleep?" As you listen to this song, be thankful that eternal death is arrested and defeated because of Jesus.
