I saw a post on Facebook about Corrie Ten Boom forgiving a Nazi guard. I went on a search to find sources for it. What I found is even more than I expected. The shortened version I first read is great. Forgiving a Nazi guard after what she went through would be so hard. However, if you read the whole story, Corrie expands on the difficulties of truly forgiving someone who has wronged you. (wronged to the point of lifelong PTSD) This kind of forgiveness is near impossible for mere mortals. But God. I say this short phrase as a way for us to remember that with God nothing is impossible. Corrie knew this. For her, this encounter with a former monster was a "But God" moment. Thankfully she was in tune with the spirit of God and took steps toward her needed healing. Praise God for these lessons we get to learn via His humble servant Corrie! She was a remarkable woman!
Verses for Consideration:
Matthew 19:26 ESV
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Ephesians 4:32 ESV
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
