When we face pain and suffering, it is easy to look to God and ask why he is allowing this to happen. We must remember that God in His love and mercy doesn't want us to experience bad things, and in fact, often spares us from them by His mighty hand. (ever had a near miss accident?) It is not wrong to ask God to take away something bad, but as sinful people, we need to do so in humility and with patience. The link below is to a devotion by Sharon Jaynes. She writes about this topic, but takes it a step further. What if by going through something bad, God is doing a new thing or in some way making you better for going through the pain? It takes faith and patience to believe so, but try not to doubt, because God is that good!
