Mercy and Grace are frequently used words in the church. However, do you truly understand them? Did you know they are very different? This video talks about the differences, which will help you to better live them out in your Christian life. The proper understanding of these two terms can also be a great witnessing tool. Think about these examples from the Bible as listen to this video. 1. David received mercy for some very bad things he did when he was restored by Nathan the prophet. Out of God's grace, his kingdom flourished and he became known as a person after God's own heart. 2. Paul received mercy when, after being an enemy of the Gospel, God revealed Himself to Paul and then restored his sight and commissioned him to be a missionary. Through God's grace, Paul won over unknown numbers of people for the Gospel, and started many churches throughout the civilized world.
Verses for Consideration:
Luke 6:36 ESV
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
James 4:6 ESV
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
