Back in 2009, David Crowder, while still part of the David Crowder Band, recorded "How He Loves." It was on the their last cd titled, Church Music. "How He Loves" became a huge hit and is played all over the world in Churches even today. The song, however was not written by Crowder. This song was first released by a little know Christian artist named, John Mark McMillan. He wrote the song after he had experienced a tragic loss of a close friend. The story of the song (linked below) is powerful testimony of Mark processing this tragic loss by writing and singing. He wants to express a love which comes from God and how God meets us, unworthy souls in the midst of our dark times. He points out that many don't truly understand the type of love we receive from God.

Verses for Consideration:
Jeremiah 31:3 ESV
The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Isaiah 7:14 ESV
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Lyrics:
He is jealous for me Loves like a hurricane I am a tree Bending beneath The weight of his wind and mercy When all of a sudden I am unaware of these Afflictions eclipsed by glory And I realize how beautiful you are And how great your affections for me
Oh how he loves us so Oh how he loves us How he loves us so
Yea He loves us Oh how
We are his portion And he is our prize Drawn to redemption by the grace in his eyes If grace is an ocean we're all sinking So heaven meats earth like a sloppy wet kiss And my heart burns violently inside of my chest I don't have time to maintain these regrets When I think about the way He loves us
Oh how he loves us so Oh how he loves us How he loves us so
Yea He loves us Oh how
I thought about you The day Stephen died And you met me between my breaking I know that I still love you God Despite the agony See people they want to tell me your cruel But if Stephen could sing He'd say its not true Cause your good
