I know that many people struggle with the evolution -vs- creation debate. The real question is whether or you can are in a place to believe the Bible. The Bible makes it clear that God created the universe with all its creativity and complexity in 6 days. For those who struggle, I think that studies like this one might help. The question posed by the intellectual scientists at Answers in Genesis is, "Given all the things the eye must have built in to work, could that have happened through random change and chance?" From my educated, but limited perspective, not a chance!

Verses of Consideration:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. ...

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
