On What Basis Are You Here?

Human beings do a lot of things with good intentions, but often, even with good intentions, we tend to make things more complicated and even sometimes make a mess of things. This preacher asks us to ponder a question. On what basis are you here? It is entirely possible that the other two guys on the cross knew some theology, but even if they didn't, isn't it amazing that Jesus said to one of them in his moment of death, "...today you will be with me in paradise?" If that doesn't cause you to pause and think about how you deal with the unchurched, you may be getting callous regarding the great and wonderful free gift, that is salvation!
Verse for Consideration:
Luke 23:40-43
But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
