What does it feel like to be rescued? Someone who has been rescued from a dangerous situation could probably describe it best. I like to think it feels like a burden off your shoulders. Maybe you even breathe easier... Sometimes we need rescuing from our circumstances and are not even aware of it. This story is about a young boy who grew up in a Muslim home. At some point his mother started to doubt and investigated Christianity. Through a friend, she attended a church and eventually found the truth of Jesus, and left the Muslim religion. While she was ready to hear what God had to say, she found out that some are not ready to hear the good news when we think they should be. Her son, who also had doubts about being a Muslim, was getting into bad things like drugs and alcohol. While this young man was choosing to follow paths that lead him away from God, God didn't stop working on him. Many people in his life were trying to help him, including his Mom who continually prayed for him. His mom knew he needed to confront his demons, and to turn to the true God. While it did eventually happen, how it happened is a true testimony to God's mysterious and wonderous ways!
Verses for Consideration:
Colossians 2:1-3 ESV
For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Job 11:7-9 ESV
“Can you find out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limit of the Almighty? It is higher than heaven—what can you do? Deeper than Sheol—what can you know? Its measure is longer than the earth and broader than the sea.
